<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of calculation in estimation of a delay profile, for a digital broadcasting receiver employing a transmission symbol configured as an effective symbol containing a frame header composed of a PN series as a known-pseudo random number series and a transmit information, as a transmission unit. <P>SOLUTION: When correlation between a PN series self-generated at a receiver and a received signal is calculated in order to estimate a delay profile, part of the effective symbol adjacent before and after a frame header is calculated, based on the received signal including the frame header and a range adjacent to the frame header.
