<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding keyboard cover mechanism which employs a structure which drops a portion of a keyboard cover down into the back part of a musical instrument body and effectively makes a cover-opening operation slow without complicating a device. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding keyboard cover mechanism includes a first guide part 51 and a second guide part 52 which guide the opening and closing of a front cover 31 and back cover 32 which are connected to each other. A keyboard cover 30 includes: a front part-supporting part 311 which is provided in the front part of the front cover 31 and is guided by the first guide part 51; an intermediate supporting part 312 which is provided in the back part of the front cover 31 or in the front part of the back cover 32 and is guided by the first guide part 51; and a back part-supporting part 320 which is provided in the back part of the back cover 32 and is guided by the second guide part 52. The second guide part 52 includes an inclined falling-in part 523 which makes the part of the key board cover fall in backward, corresponding to the opening-end part of the keyboard cover 30. The first guide part 51 includes rising parts 515, 516 which incline backward and upward.
