PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically assign and make program reservation in each recorder without requesting a user to perform program recording individually for each recorder. SOLUTION: A program reservation apparatus allows program reservation in a plurality of recorders, each of which has one or more recording resources and can record one or more broadcast programs at the same time. The program reservation apparatus comprises: an input section that inputs program reservation where channel information about a program, specific information about the recording start time and end time of the program, and information about a recording mode are specified; a table for storing the plurality of input program reservations; a table for storing combinations of recording resources that cannot be used simultaneously; a table for storing identification information about the recording resources that can execute each recording mode; a resource assignment section for assigning a resource to each of the plurality of program reservations; and a program recording assignment transmitting section for transmitting a control signal that instructs the execution of each of the plurality of program reservations to each recorder having a recording resource to which each of the plurality of program reservations is assigned.
