PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide belt cleaning and sterilizing device and method having high cleaning capability and sterilizing capability by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This belt cleaning and sterilizing device 20 cleans a conveying belt 13 of a conveyor device 10 moving along a prescribed conveying passage. The belt cleaning and sterilizing device 20 includes a fluid supply part 30 for supplying fluid to the conveying belt 13, a shaving part 40 provided to be closer to a downstream side of the conveying passage than the fluid supply part 30 and having a scraper 41 abutting on the conveying belt 13, and a wiping part 50 provided to be closer to the downstream side of the conveying passage than the shaving part 40 and having a wiping belt 54 abutting on the conveying belt 13.
