<p>The process for improving structure quality of bearing blocks (5) in a cylinder block (1) made of aluminum alloy for a piston engine having cylinder liner and two spaced bearing blocks for crankshaft bearings, which are cast with the cylinder block in a materially integral manner, comprises casting a bearing cover (7) in a lead frame (6) for the bearing block in the cylinder block in a materially integral manner, and compressing and hardening structure of the bearing cover or -block at 350-500[deg] C by partial forging, where matrices are positioned on both-sides of bearing block and/or -cover. The process for improving structure quality of bearing blocks (5) in a cylinder block (1) made of aluminum alloy for a piston engine having a cylinder liner and two spaced bearing blocks for crankshaft bearings, which are cast with the cylinder block in a materially integral manner, comprises casting a bearing cover (7) in a lead frame (6) for the bearing block in the cylinder block in a materially integral manner, and compressing and hardening the structure of the bearing cover or bearing block at 350-500[deg] C by partial forging, where the matrices transversely-moveable and shape-adaptable to the sides surfaces of the bearing block and/or the bearing cover are positioned on both-sides of the bearing block and/or the bearing cover. A pressing force acting in the direction of the side surfaces of the bearing block and/or the bearing cover is applied on the sides of the matrices turned away from the side surfaces of the bearing block and/or the bearing cover. The pressing force is applied through wedges press-fit between the matrices provided with wedge surfaces. The pressing force acting vertical to the crankshaft bearings is directly applied on the bearing block and/or the bearing cover through a stamp press-fit between the matrices. An independent claim is included for a cylinder block made of aluminum alloy for a piston engine having a cylinder liner and two spaced bearing blocks for crankshaft bearings.</p> |
