Preparing a composite material containing more than 5 wt.%, preferably up to 70 wt.% of nanotubes, comprises: (a) introducing, in a compounding device, a liquid polymer composition containing at least an base of elastomer resin and nanotubes; (b) mixing the polymer composition and nanotubes within the device to form the composite material; and (c) recovering the composite material, optionally after transformation into an agglomerated solid form. Independent claims are included for: (1) composite material obtainable by the method; and (2) manufacturing a composite product comprising: preparing the composite material; and introducing the composite material in a polymer matrix.
