PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring the strength of a steel plate are provided to obtain a measured value of an online stable steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring the strength of a steel plate comprises a yoke core(300), a magnetizing coil(400), a detection coil(500) and a strength measurement part(700). Both side of a yoke core is facing with one another. The magnetizing coil surrounds the circumference of the task site of the yoke core. The sinusoidal magnetic force is occurred in the yoke core when the current sine wave flows. The detection coil surrounds the circumference of the site of the yoke core in order to detect the magnetic flux density by the sinusoidal magnetic force.
