PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling the intensity of a camera flash controlling the intensity according to a distance of a subject are provided to photograph an image of the stable color according to the distance of the subject in consideration of the dissemination of LED flash. CONSTITUTION: An actuator(100) transfers lens according to an AF(Auto Focusing) command and adjusts the focus. A drive IC(200) maintains a lens position in which the focus is adjusted and stores a focus value by AF to register data. An ISP(In-System Programmable) unit(300) performs the calculation of AF start/finish time and applies the AF command to the actuator. A memory stores a subject distance section data.
