<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game program and a game device allowing a player to freely control the movement of the player's character. <P>SOLUTION: The game device 10 comprises an LCD 14 and a touch panel 22 related to the LCD 14, and a game picture including the player's character is displayed in the LCD 14. When the player operates a stick 24 in such a way as strokes the surface of the touch panel 22 (stroking operation), the player's character is moved according to the operation. The speed of movement of the player's character is determined or computed based on the length of the stroking operation, and the direction of movement is determined in the direction of the stroking operation.
