PURPOSE: A continuously variable automatic transmission and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a transmission shock due to the rapid change of transmission speed by implementing a continuously variable transmission. CONSTITUTION: A rotational output power of an engine is transferred to a driving wheel(7) through a torque converter(2) with a lock-up clutch, a first gear sequence, a continuously variable transmission, a second gear sequence, and an acceleration/deceleration device(6). A parking device(8), which locks the output shaft of the transmission, is installed in the second gear sequence(5). An oil pump(10) is driven by using a part of the driving power of the engine. A transmission controller(12) controls a hydraulic control circuit. |
