PURPOSE: An encoder system which accurately converts the rotation quantity of a drive member into a digital signal is provided to accurately detect the rotation quantity of an optics transparency rotator which is installed at a drive member. CONSTITUTION: An encoder system comprises an emitting device(4), an optics transparency rotator(18), a light source separator member(6), first and second reflecting mirrors, a detector(12) and a signal processing unit(14). The emitting device emits light. The optics transparency rotator is installed in the drive member to make a difference of each route that the light source of the emitting device passes through. The light source separator member divides the light source of the emitting device into two branches.
