[Class 118 (i)] In a vehicle-theft alarm device of the type in which a switch a disposed transversely of the vehicle is tilted by a person on entering the vehicle and closes a circuit including an alarm g, a thermal delay switch h, i, f is provided which, when energized, interrupts the circuit to the alarm to enable the driver to alight after setting the device and remakes the circuit on cooling. Before alighting, the driver operates push. button switch k, thereby completing the circuit for coil h, heating bimetallic element and causing normally-closed contacts f to open for a short period. To check the operation of switches a and f, switch b is set to include lamp d in the circuit. The lamp normally glows dimly, but flashes brightly when switch a short-circuits resistor e and extinguishes when switch f opens. The current with the lamp in circuit is insufficient to operate the alarm. Resistor e is also adjusted to pass insufficient current to operate the alarm. |
