APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING TOUCH GESTURE

PURPOSE: A touch gesture recognition apparatus and a method thereof for recognizing a touch gesture in the small amount of computational complexity is provided to commonly apply a single touch screen and a multi touch screen by using the variation of the diagonal length. CONSTITUTION: A touch gesture recognition apparatus includes a gesture recognition unit(122) and an input event processing unit(124). The gesture recognition unit sets up a bounding box covering a touch location from sensed touch positions. The gesture recognition unit recognizes the gesture through the diagonal length of a set bounding box. The input event processing unit maps the recognized gesture to a user input event.
