<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument that is capable of accurately and easily measuring and displaying the signal strength of a beacon signal from among the desired plural APs (access points) constituting a wireless LAN. <P>SOLUTION: A signal strength measuring instrument 10 comprises a communication section 13 which receives signals transmitted from a plurality of APs, selects a signal containing a designated ESSID and obtains a BSSID identifying an AP from the selected signal and a signal intensity from that AP; a memory 11 for relatively storing the BSSID associated with the AP and the signal intensity from that AP; a signal intensity display section 12 for displaying the signal intensity; an AP setting means 14 for setting a desired AP; and a control means 15 for displaying, on the signal intensity display section 12, a signal intensity of a signal from the desired AP if the AP setting means is in an invalid state, or for displaying, on the signal intensity display section 12, the signal intensity of a signal from an AP that is transmitting the strongest signal, from the memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
