<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stairs tread of a novel constitution, capable of imparting sufficient visibility and a sense of security to a pedestrian by uniformly irradiating the light in the width direction of stairs, particularly when ascending and descending the stairs at night. <P>SOLUTION: A surface side peripheral groove 12 is formed along the front edge of a surface of a tread 11, and a vertical hole 13 penetrating through the reverse surface side of the tread from its groove bottom is formed in the center of the surface side peripheral groove. A light source 16 is arranged in the vertical hole. Respective central side end parts of two tube lights 14 stored in the surface side peripheral groove, are fitted in the vertical hole, and are opened in a position opposed to the light source. The light from the light source is made incident from the opening end of the tube lights, and is irradiated to a surface front edge side area of the tread by being emitted from a side surface of the tube lights while scattering, and is also irradiated to the surface innermost side area of the stairs tread below by one by being emitted to the reverse surface side of the tread via a light transmissive cap 19 arranged in an opening on the tread reverse surface side of the vertical hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
