<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device with which an optical path conversion device and an optical branching device can be readily manufactured to be compact at low cost, and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical device with optical branching functions. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical device with the optical branching functions includes a process (S1) of arranging a mold, having a mold surface formed in a specified shape at the tip of an optical wiring line 1 so that the mold surface 21 is made to abut against the tip of the optical wiring line 1; a process (S2) of charging a photosensitive medium 30, having a function of setting by light irradiation in a cavity 35 between the tip part of the optical wiring line 1 and the mold 20; a process (S3) of forming a self-formed optical waveguide 10, by curing the photosensitive medium 30 at a part, corresponding to a path along which light reaches the mold 20 by introducing the light for making the photosensitive medium 30 cured in the optical wiring line 1 and projecting it from the tip of the optical wiring line 1; and a process (4) of removing the mold 20 and forming processed end surfaces 11, 11a, and 11b on an end surface of the obtained self-formed optical waveguide 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
