The device (10) has a base (22) defining an interior volume (68) and a traversing housing. A refill (18) i.e. cosmetic product, defines a cosmetic article storage reservoir (80), and is received in the housing in a removable way. A releasable locking unit (20) permits releasable locking of the refill in the housing, and is movable between immobilization configuration for immobilization of the refill in the housing and a release configuration for releasing the refill. The locking unit is handled from an external surface (46) of the base without movement of the refill between the configurations.
