The device (11) has an air intake conduit (13) subjected to an aerodynamic air flow produced by displacement of a vehicle. A wind generator (12) transforms kinetic energy of incoming air flow (15) into the conduit into an electric energy, where the air flow passes into the conduit via an inlet in front of vehicle. The generator has a driving part mounted in the conduit and operated by the incoming air flow, where the conduit has a constant section. A movable closing unit (20) e.g. pivoting valve, closes the air intake conduit, and a control unit controls opening and closing of theclosing unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle comprising an energy recovery device (2) a method of recovering energy.
