PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical ranging sensor capable of implementing a large distance measurement range and achieving precise detection of an object even when the object is a low reflection object at a long distance side within the range. SOLUTION: A driving time of an infrared LED and an exposure time of a light-receiving side are set at the same timing, and the light-receiving side is exposed for a time period identical to the exposure time set at the same time period during a time period in which the infrared LED is not driven. The output difference between an output based on the exposure when the infrared LED is driven and an output based on the exposure when the infrared LED is not driven is determined and ranging is performed based on this output difference.
