PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing toner for efficiently producing toner with a narrow particle size distribution, forming high-resolution, high-definition and high-quality image, and causing no image degradation over a long period. SOLUTION: The method for producing toner includes: a periodic droplet forming process for periodically discharging a toner composition liquid from a plurality of nozzles to form droplets by using a droplet forming means comprising a thin film, wherein a plurality of nozzles are formed, and an annular vibration generating means vibrating the thin film; and a particle forming process for solidifying the droplets to form toner particles. The thin film is constructed of a nozzle part, which is arranged in the center of the thin film and includes a plurality of nozzles, and a non-nozzle part, which is arranged on the outside of the nozzle part and includes no nozzle. When a film thickness of the thin film in the nozzle part is represented by Mt1 (μm) while a film thickness of the non-nozzle is represented by Mt2 (μm), Mt1>Mt2, 2≤Mt1/Mt2≤15, and 10 (μm)≤Mt1≤200 (μm).
