PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or method for controlling the potential difference between electrophoretic elements based on a temperature equivalent value of an electrophoretic display part without using a special temperature sensor. SOLUTION: The device for driving the electrophoretic display part includes: a current detection part that detects a driving current supplied to or flowing out of the electrophoretic display part and outputs a detection value corresponding to the driving current; a conversion part that converts the detection value into a corresponding temperature equivalent value; and a driving part that generates a driving control signal of the electrophoretic display part based on the temperature equivalent value.
