<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that achieves both silencing a noise and preventing uneven moisture absorption of a photoreceptor at high levels during the suspension of image formation. <P>SOLUTION: CPU of an image forming apparatus allows the photoreceptor to slightly rotate based on a predetermined set value of a slight rotation interval during the suspension of image formation, thereby preventing the occurrence of uneven OPC moisture absorption. The set value of the slight rotation interval is suitably changed according to a change in CPU operation. The CPU allows a temperature and humidity sensor to measure humidity inside a housing of the image forming apparatus and obtains a measured value (S201). The CPU calculates a humidity variation based on the measured value obtained this time and that obtained last time, and obtains a rate of humidity change inside the housing of the image forming apparatus (S203-S207). The CPU sets the set value of the slight rotation interval based on the calculated humidity variation, that is, the obtained rate of humidity change (S209). The CPU sets the set value of the slight rotation interval shorter as the reduction rate of humidity becomes higher, so that the slight rotation of the photoreceptor is frequently performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
