<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device constituted so that miniaturization is attained and the uniformity of the density of a developer is secured in the case of being miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device 40 includes a developer carrier 40A capable of carrying a developer on a surface thereof, a control member 403 facing the developer carrier 40A and controlling the amount of the developer carried on the developer carrier, and a conveying member 401 located in the vicinity of the developer carrier 40A and conveying the developer toward one side in a lengthwise direction of the developer carrier 40A.
