PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To independently measure pressure, temperature, etc. acting on a measured object with high space resolution.
SOLUTION: In the distribution-type optical fiber pressure sensor FS, a strain/pressure/temperature detector 14 measures an amount of Brillouin frequency shift due to strain, pressure or temperature acting on a first detecting optical fiber 151 using a Brillouin scattering phenomenon, an amount of Brillouin frequency shift due to strain or temperature acting on a second detecting optical fiber 152 inserted through a pressure shielding tube 33, and an amount of Rayleigh frequency shift due to strain or temperature acting on the first and the second detecting optical fibers 151, 152 using a Rayleigh scattering phenomenon, and the pressure acting on the first detecting optical fiber 151 and the strain in the axial direction and the temperature acting on the first and the second detecting optical fibers 151, 152 are computed from the measured amounts of Brillouin frequency shift and Rayleigh frequency shift of the first and the second detecting optical fibers 151, 152.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
