MONITORING DEVICE AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely monitor even a network connection device which is not defined as a management object beforehand by a monitoring device.

SOLUTION: The monitoring device includes: a storage section wherein a configuration information file including an identifier for identifying the model and vender of a network connection device and the network interface configuration of the model is recorded for each model beforehand; an interface detection section for detecting the identifier of the network connection device under monitoring and the operation condition of the network interface; a configuration information extraction section for extracting the configuration information file including the detected identifier, or the configuration information file including the identifier for the model of the vender same as the identifier when the configuration information file including the identifier is not recorded; and a visualizing section for visualizing the operation condition of the network interface of the monitoring object device on the basis of the extracted configuration information file and the detected operation condition.
