<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for branching an optical fiber cable facilitating removing operation of an external coating without the need of a covering operation for a core line not to be connected, and to improve branching workability of the optical fiber cable. <P>SOLUTION: The method is for branching the optical fiber cable 100 at a middle part of the optical fibers 15 of the optical fiber cable 100 comprising a longitudinal slot 11 having a plurality of partition walls 21, 23, 25, 27 in the cross-section in the direction orthogonal to the axis, an optical fiber storage part 13 partitioned with the plurality of the partition walls 21, 23, 25, 27 and formed in the slot 11 longitudinal direction, and a plurality of optical fibers 15 stored in the optical fiber storage part 13, which are covered with an external coating 19. A part in the circumferential direction of the external coating 19 is removed for taking out at least one of the optical fibers 15 for connecting the taken out optical fiber 15 and a drop cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
