PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load receiving platform elevating device capable of preventing decrease of a shipping space for a load on a platform when not in use, and a removing method of a load receiving platform. SOLUTION: The load receiving platform 2 on which the load is placed is connected via a hinge 8 to a support body 7 mounted via an arm body 4 on the platform 11 of a freight car C. When the load receiving platform elevating device 1 is not in use, the load receiving platform elevating device 1 is set to an upper position or a grounding position.
