PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can suppress the generation of unevenness in images resulting from a load variation when a recording medium is carried. SOLUTION: A change-bending section 22B which changes the carrying direction of a recording paper P, and at the same time, curves the recording paper P is installed at part of the main carrying path 22 by which the long recording paper P, on which an image is formed by an image forming section 12, is carried to a cutter 20. With the change-bending section 22B, the carrying of the recording paper P is temporarily detained, so that the difference between the processing speed for the image formation and the processing speed for cutting is adjusted.
