PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent restriction on space required for arrangement and movement of a flexure tool or the like due to an adjacent linear conductor having different turns in a coil manufacturing method for manufacturing a wave wound coil in a substantially cylindrical shape by shaping a linear conductor with a cross-sectional shape having directionality. SOLUTION: The coil manufacturing method includes: a transfer step Pf for transferring a wave conductor having a plurality of linear side portions extending in a wave width direction, one side connecting portions and other side connecting portions for sequentially connecting every other pair of two side portions at respective one side and the other side in a wave width direction; a connection portion bending step P6 for bending the other side connection portion; a winding step P8 for winding the wave conductor subjected to bending processing by the connection portion bending step P6 in a plurality of turns around a bobbin; and a bobbin axis direction moving step P7 for relatively moving the bobbin for the wave conductor before winding around the bobbin to one side of the wave width direction in a coil axis direction at least once while winding the wave conductor on the bobbin by one turn.
