PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an radiopaque composite yarn having a sufficient strength and flexibility, having less yarn cutting even when subjected to a weaving or sewing process, and suitably used as a sewing machine thread. SOLUTION: The composite yarn constituted by radiopaque fibers formed by a thermoplastic resin containing a radiopaque agent and a non-radiopaque fibers not containing the radiopaque agent, contains 90 mass% or less of radiopaque fibers based on the whole of the composite fibers, and has a tenacity of the composite fiber of 500 cN, and the thermoplastic resin forming the radiopaque fibers contains 20 mass% or more of thermoplastic elastomer.
