<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an elevator control cable device capable of detecting disconnection of a steel-cored wire without operator's checking the steel-cored wire by a regular macroscopical examination. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device includes a control cable 2, which is connected to a car 1 on one end, connected to building on the other end, and hung at an intermediate part; a steel-cored wire 3, which is arranged along a longitudinal direction of the control cable 2, is connected to a car 1 on one end, and is connected to building on the other end, and supports the control cable 2; and displacement detection means 4 for detecting downward displacement of a hung portion 2a of the control cable 2 when the steel-cored wire 3 is disconnected.
