<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle equipment control system having high versatility and capable of preventing the erroneous mounting of a slave device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The slave device 200 is connected by daisy-chain to a bus 10. The slave device 200 includes a switch 201 short-circuiting or releasing a signal line 13 of the bus 10. A communication control unit 203 releases the switch 201 in an identifier setting mode, obtains an identifier from a communication telegraphic message transmitted from a master device 100, and sets the identifier as its own identifier.
