<p>An information providing device for a vehicle, wherein, when the own vehicle (VA) transmits own vehicle information including a position, a travelling velocity, and a travelling direction of the own vehicle (VA), moving object information including a position, a travelling velocity, and a travelling direction of a detection vehicle (VB), and time information including the time that the own vehicle and moving object information has been obtained, to a base station (20); the base station (20) calculates the existence probability of the detection vehicle (VB) with respect to the map data, on the basis of the respective information, and transmits prediction information regarding the detection vehicle (VB) existing in an intersection on the basis of the own vehicle position and the existence probability of the detection vehicle (VB), to the own vehicle (VA). Thereby, a passenger in the own vehicle (VA) can be reminded or alerted on the basis of the prediction information, to thereby avoid collision with the detection vehicle (VB) due to the abrupt approach. In this case, it is not necessary that the detection vehicle (VB) is provided with the same device as the own vehicle (VA). Therefore, the collision due to the abrupt approach can be avoided with respect to all detection vehicles (VB) including a vehicle in which no device such as an inter-vehicle communication means is provided. Further, it is not necessary to establish infrastructure at each intersection, and collisions can be avoided at a low cost.</p> |
