<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeating method and the like for confirming a communication status for an active communication path, and also for a reserve communication path. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitting terminal 100 generates a whole path confirmation request packet and transmits it to routers 300-700. Furthermore, each of the routers 300-700 transfers to all communication paths with a receiving terminal 200 a whole path confirmation request packet to which information indicating the router itself has been added as path information to the transmitted whole path confirmation request packet. Moreover, the receiving terminal 200 generates a whole path confirmation response packet transcribing the path information included in the transferred whole path confirmation request packet. The receiving terminal 200 then transmits the generated whole path confirmation response packet through the routers 300-700 to the transmitting terminal 100. Each of the routers 300-700 then transfers the transmitted the whole path confirmation response packet to the transmitting terminal 100.
