<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium capable of determining genuineness with modifications made as to points such as insufficiency of forgery preventive effects, inconspicuousness of and difficulty to read a recording part as an information recording medium, and further, poor designability of a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: This recording medium 1 capable of determining genuineness comprises at least, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 4, a transparent vapor deposition layer 5, a hologram formation layer 6 and a heat-sensitive breaking layer 7 formed, in that order, on one surface of a base material 2. In addition, a black layer 3 is formed between the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 4 and the base material 2 or on the other surface of the base material 2. Under this constitution, a combination of the functions of each layer such as the cholesteric liquid crystal layer 4, the hologram formation layer 6, the heat-sensitive breaking layer 7, the black layer 3 and the transparent vapor deposition layer 5 can be displayed.
