<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease base oil that has weak volatility as a characteristic at a high temperature and has excellent heat resistance while maintaining lubricity, and satisfies flowability as a characteristic at a low-temperature and storage stability, and can be used in a wide temperature range. <P>SOLUTION: The grease base oil contains an ester obtained by reaction of pentaerythritol and a carboxylic acid, and the carboxylic acid contains 2-ethyl hexanoic acid, n-heptanoic acid, and n-octanoic acid in a total amount of 95-100 wt.%, moreover a weight ratio of the content of 2-ethyl hexanoic acid to the total content of n-heptanoic acid and n-octanoic acid (content of 2-ethyl hexanoic acid)/(total content of n-heptanoic acid and n-octanoic) is 36/64-44/56. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
