PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity data input device which can alleviate mental and physical workload on an operator during registration work. SOLUTION: A commodity data input device reads barcode information from image acquired by a CCD camera 105; sends the read barcode information to an external POS terminal via a hub 104; determines whether or not a finger sign included in the image acquired by the CCD camera 105 is coincide with the one among pre-registered number signs; and sends a key code indicating the finger sign included in the image to the external POS terminal if determined that the finger sign is coincide with the one among the pre-registered number signs. This allows the operator to register the commodity without greatly moving line of sight and working range of the operator's hand during commodity registration work, thereby alleviating the mental and physical workload on the operator during registration work.
