PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an onboard high voltage battery, by overcoming the problem that it is difficult to simultaneously satisfy various requirements such as high energy density and simplification of management of the remaining capacity. SOLUTION: A high-voltage battery formed of a nickel hydrogen secondary battery (Ni-MH) and a high-voltage battery formed of a lithium ion secondary battery (Li) are simultaneously used. When their voltages drop to a use lower limit voltage VthL or below (time t3), the use of the nickel hydrogen secondary battery is stopped, and only the lithium ion secondary battery is used. In addition, when their voltages rise to a use upper limit voltage VthH or above (time t5), the use of the lithium secondary battery is stopped and only the nickel hydrogen secondary battery is used.
