PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device capable of rotating a casing brake from its operating position to a sausage casing pull-on position in an easy and user-friendly means. SOLUTION: The holding device for a stuffing machine for stuffing sausages has a head 3 provided with the casing brake 10 and a drive shaft 20 through which the casing brake 10 can be driven. The casing brake 10 encloses the free end of a filling tube 7 of the stuffing machine at an operating position and exposes the free end of the filling tube 7 by pivoting the head 3 away at the sausage casing pull-on position. When the head 3 is moved from the operating position to the sausage casing pull-on position, the drive shaft 20 is deflected at an angleαrelative to the longitudinal axis L of the holding device without decoupling a power train.
