The error rate of received data is reduced as follows. A MIMO processing unit (202) receives data transmitted from a transmission device through antennas (201-0 to 201-3) and separates the packets of layers (0 to 3) each transmitted from an antenna of the transmission device. Maximum ratio combining units (203-0 to 203-3) maximum-ratio-combines the overlapped portions of the packets of the layers (0 to 3). Turbo decoding units (204-0 to 204-3) turbo-decode the packets of the layers (0 to 3), the respective overlapped portions of which are maximum-ratio-combined. A soft decision value combining unit (205) combines the soft decision values of the information bits of the respective layers (0 to 3), which are obtained as a result of turbo-decoding of the packets of the layers (0 to 3) by the turbo decoding units (204-0 to 204-3). A hard decision unit (206) obtains hard decision values corresponding to the respective information bits of the layers (0 to 3) in the transmission device. |
