PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system in which a plurality of clients can practically simultaneously execute the same reproduction mode.

SOLUTION: The content distribution system is provided with the content distribution server 2 for distributing contents to the plurality of clients 4, 6 and 8. At least one client has a transmission means for transmitting at least one line performance between at least one client and the content distribution server 2 and a reproduction performance of at least one client to the content distribution server 2. The content distribution server 2 is provided with a reproduction mode control means for controlling the reproduction mode of the plurality of clients 4, 6 and 8 on the basis of at least one of the line performance and the reproduction performance.
