<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of descaling steel, by which oxidized scale is usually removed by stable descaling force over the whole surface of the steel when the oxidized scale generated on the surfaces of the steel is removed by jetting high-pressure water onto the surfaces of the steel from a plurality of high-pressure water spraying nozzles which are arranged at a constant pitch in the width direction of the steel. <P>SOLUTION: The correlation between overlapping allowance where high-pressure water 5 which is jetted onto the surfaces of the steel 1 from two adjacent high-pressure water spraying nozzles 4 among a plurality of high-pressure water spraying nozzles which are arranged at a constant pitch in the width direction of the steel 1 which is obtained by rolling a slab heated in a heating furnace with a roughing mill, and the jetting distance d of the high-pressure water 5, is previously obtained and, after adjusting the jetting distance d of the high-pressure water 5 to a jetting distance where the overlapping allowance is minimized, the oxidized scale generated on the surfaces of the steel 1 is removed by jetting the high-pressure water 5 onto the surfaces of the steel 1 from the high-pressure water spraying nozzles 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
