PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preparing a plastic raw material liquid which enables reducing production costs of optical articles and manufacturing optical articles having good quality. SOLUTION: The preparing apparatus includes raw material containers 11 and 12 containing two raw materials L1 and L2, respectively, a mixing section 13 mixing the raw materials L1 and L2 delivered from the raw material containers 11 and 12, respectively, to prepare a plastic raw material liquid, and a detection section 14 detecting the mixing ratio of the raw materials L1 and L2 prepared in the mixing section 13. When the mixing ratio is in tolerance, plastic lenses for spectacles having good quality can be manufactured. When the mixing ratio is outside tolerance, the operation of pouring the plastic raw material liquid L into a molding mold 21 is stopped to proceed to unnecessary operations of the polymerization process and subsequent processes, resulting in a reduction of production costs.
