<p>A method for producing a biomass charcoal which comprises: carbonizing a biomass to give a biomass charcoal and an exhaust gas containing tar; and contacting at least a portion of the tar in the exhaust gas with the biomass and/or the biomass charcoal to thereby produce the biomass charcoal carrying the tar that has stuck thereto and deposited thereon as a carbide.</p>
