A method of transporting persons in a building by means of a lift installation which comprises at least one lift cage (11) is disclosed. The lift cage is entered by persons at at least one first (S1) or second (S2) access storey. At least one destination storey (S3, S4, S5, S6) is fixedly allocated to each access storey, and the access storeys are not destination storeys for each other. Persons boarding the lift cage at the first access storey are transported to a first fixedly allocated destination storey and persons boarding the lift cage at the second access storey are transported to a second fixedly allocated destination storey.
