PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid column of a liquid tank which is attached to the liquid tank and is free from wrong detection of a liquid level in the liquid tank by a photosensor, a liquid tank, and a droplet discharge device. SOLUTION: The liquid column (liquid column pipe 53) of the liquid tank (a subtank 33) is attached to a tank body (a subtank body 51) and faced by a photosensor (a liquid level detection mechanism 64) for sensing the liquid level of the tank body, and has translucency, and its inside surface has a lyophilic property.
