PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trash box that efficiently contains trash reducing the volume of contained trash, having compactness not requiring detaching a component when used, not spoiling the appearance even after reducing the trash volume, and having enough strength to reduce the volume of the trash in the trash box with a balanced stable operation. SOLUTION: The trash box with compression function includes: an approximately cylindrical container body with a bottom; a frame detachably arranged on the upper opening of the container body; a long support with a groove, arranged on the inner surface of the frame along the height direction of the container body; an approximately cylindrical slide slidably arranged on the outer periphery of the support; a tension spring, connecting between the support and the slide in the groove of the support, and holding the slide at the upper end of the support; and a lid rotatably arranged at the upper end of the slide, and openably/closably arranged to the frame.
