The pump (10) has a measuring device with a drive measuring variable sensor for a pump drive. Two coolant measuring variable sensors e.g. temperature sensors (22-24), a pressure sensor (21), an acceleration sensor and an electric conductivity sensor (20), determine a process measuring variable of a coolant in order to obtain conclusion of coolant characteristics. A fuel cell (2) or a coolant pump is monitored by the determined process measuring variable. A signal of the coolant measuring variable sensors is transmitted to an electronic module of the measuring device. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining two process measuring variables of a coolant in a motor vehicle.
