A synchronously meshing type gear transmission (1), wherein a plurality of shift arms are distributed to a pair of shift rods to consolidate the same, whereby it is rendered possible to form the gear transmission compactly, improve the rigidity of the shift arms and lay out a shift mechanism easily, comprising a pair of shift rods (31, 32) arranged in parallel with an output shaft of the gear transmission (1), a first-speed and backward shift arm (37) and its shift block (44) which are mounted on the shift rod (31) firmly, a second- and third-speed shift arm (38) combined with a shift block (48) into a unitary structure and mounted slidably on the shift rod (31), a third- and fourth-speed shift arm (mounted slidably on the shift rod (32) and a shift lever (40) corresponding to a sixth-speed shift arm joined to the shift rod (32) the shift arms (38, 39) being symmetric in construction and arrangement around a centre (C) and with respect to shift block (56). <IMAGE> |
