<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for encoding an image for reducing processes of retaining and managing an Index table when executing high-speed drawing by generating the Index table for every image. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for encoding the image includes: a color information acquisition means to analyze input data having an image drawing command to acquire a color value of a pixel possessed by the image; an index table generation means to generate index values uniquely related for every color value to generate an index table; an index drawing means to draw the image by the index values based on the input data and the index table; and an encoding means to convert an index value possessed by the drawn image to a color value based on the index table and encode a color image converted to a color value to generate code data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
